I thought the interesting thing with Rhodes is he can join as a free agent

As he is in the third year of a four year contract he can exit the contract by paying a sum equal to his remaining salary costs.

Say £50K a week = 2.6 Million. So we pay him 2.6 million and he joins for free. Not a loan. There would also need to be a signing fee and also the minor point of paying 50K a week wages.

Anyway, it is more about what Rhodes wants than what Wednesday want.
