The eagles started attacking the drones, then realised the blades were sharp so now they fly underneath and hit them from below. A good size wedgetail eagle will f**k up a DJI M210 no bother. It’s become a problem now because those drones are not cheap ($15kAUD) so now we have to have a spotter to watch out for rogue birds.
What’s also clever about wedgetail eagles is that they’ve figured out that they can stop the autonomous haul trucks by flying onto the haul roads and just hanging out. The lidar on the trucks picks them up and they grind to a halt. The dingoes have figured out the same too. Nobody predicted that with the new autonomous setup.
