How often did we say that in the last two seasons. Last season we managed to just outscore teams to come out on top but if nothing else (i.e. if we really can't buy another defensive midfielder to protect the defence) we absolutely have to cut out this knack of just gifting goals to the opposition out of nowhere.

Goals change games and gifting goals through errors is just something we can't afford to do. Leeds, West Brom, Derby, Forest, Stoke (and there are loads more) all examples of where we just basically handed the opposition a goal out of nothing through poor concentration/defending having been well on top in those games up to that point.

I have some sympathy for Farke here because some of the goals we concede are just inexplicable errors or lapses in concentration. You will never cut them all out as players will make mistakes but I suppose our insistence on playing out from the back makes us more susceptible to them.
