I heard a similar story on a Beeb documentary about the Underground a few years ago

A couple of kids were playing a stupid game on a crowded platform where one would make to push the other into the track as a train was about to arrive but hold on to him or pull back at the last minute. Predictably, there was a misjudgement, and one pushed the other on to the tracks and he took an innocent bystander down with him in an attempt to pull himself back. Gruesome, and one of the multitude of reasons why I try to avoid the Tube whenever possible.
