Kidwatch. Ep1

It’s been a busy summer, but while the NCFC Comms intern is getting up to speed concrete information has been tricky to get hold of.

U23 – With five signings from other clubs – plus the U18s that graduated - the Development Squad headcount was briefly up to 31. But then Loan deals started getting done and eight have gone out, all for the full-season. It is expected that three or four others are still available for Loan (did not travel to Germany)

New signings: Adshead (midfield, Rochdale); Bushiri (centre-back, KV Oostende), Gilmour (midfield, Arsenal), Mair (GK, Aberdeen) and Nizet (LB, RSC Anderlecht)

Loans Out: Barden (Bury Town), Bloomfield (Crawley), Coley (Dunfermline), Gilmour (Telstar NL), Jones (Eastbourne), Mourgas (FC Dordrecht), Power (Ross Co), Richards (Tampa Bay > Nov) and Spyrou (Chesterfield).

Scoring goals may again be the Achilles' heel of this side, with 80% being scored by players no longer involved (chiefly Idah, Spyrou & Oliveira).

So far in pre-season the U23s lost to SV Lippstadt & Colchester U23s.

U18s - The situation with the bambinos is even less clear. Eight players moved up to U23s and three left the club altogether, but officially only one Scholar has been recruited (GK Joe Rose). Unofficial sources say that Tyrese Omotoye (striker) has stepped up from the schoolboy ranks and Sean Stewart (defender) recruited from N Ireland. So semi-officially, then, the U18 squad is just 13-strong, but further information may dribble out from Colney over the next few weeks.

So far in pre-season the U18s beat Watford 6-2 and lost 1-2 to Colchester Utd.
