It makes one wonder

what MPs thought they were doing & what would happen when Article 50 notice was given, since at that point there was no deal, and no guarantee of a deal, and only 2 years in which to negotiate and agree one. Proroguing Parliament would for many reasons be a dreadful idea, but it would simply allow to be brought into effect a decision made several years ago.
