Heard on the grapevine that

The young'uns were being paid very little (between a tenth and a fifth of some of the first teamer salaries mentioned) , hence the regular little and often new contracts that a few of them have signed over the last nine months.
Shouldn't be too much of a surprise. There's a world of difference between being a youngster on the fringes of the squad, to playing occasionally in the Cup, to cementing your place in the first team, to winning young championship player of the season in a winning side.

I'd not normally pass this on but it came from a friend of the family discussion and sounded about right.

Same source also said our contracts are low on the salaries, but high on success/appearance bonuses... Which would seem to also fit the plan and the culture.

Worked last year, suppose it might bite us in the arse. We can only wait and see.
