Same in Dutch as a noun. Don’t use the adjective though. -e is one of the many

feminine forms of a noun (actually -se). E.g Dutch man = Nederlander, Dutch woman = nederlandse.

And I know. Niederdeutsch. I enjoy reminding them that as often as possible.
