Is a good thought, although

it may be that one of the ways the logo on the shirt gets seen globally is through the many shots of fans in the crowd, as well as the players? And if all their shirts don't have the sponsor, might actually draw attention to the less wholesome nature of it, in a way the firm might not want?

But you'd have still thought the above is dwarfed by coverage of the players, in the end. So I do like your logic.
