Back in the day when we were sponsored by Fosters Lager was there a fuss?

Anyone remember? The point being made by others is that there is a (perceived) difference between alcohol sponsorship and a betting organisation. Yes I too think there is, but can't quite put my finger on just what it is. Easy to say both are addictive, but drinking alcohol is more socially acceptable and less addictive maybe? I drink, but not every day and certainly am capable of stopping whenever I have 'supped my fill'. I would consider wearing a shirt with a drinks company on it, whilst I would not wear one with a betting organisation. Trouble is I don't really know why I feel that way, but I'm sure I'm not the only one.
