Webber Interview on TNC, some thoughts...

Watched this a 2nd time and have to say this was fantastic. I don't mean TNC and the Reeves' hype about it being a coup, as he spoke with MFW' Connor Southwell back in Feb.

No, what made me feel so great was Webber and what he is doing at the Club. Yes, he's open and honest. Yes, he's really articulate and highly engaging. However, this was so much more than form over content, as there was so much lip smacking content to get the yellow and green blood pumping.

So, what's so special?
Club culture overhaul; not a quick win, but the returns are so worth the wait. So impressed that attitude and 'fitting' are valued so highly and, possibly, above ability. The sum is greater than the parts is a trite phrase, but so much evidence to support this.
Learning from failing; this is bringing football management into 21st century and so much success in the business world generated with this approach... just hope fans can keep patient.
Learn from everyone; again, bucking the "if you don't know football, you can't teach us anything" trend, it's exciting to see non-football success being analysed and distilled for how to do things differently. Chimes with the Brailsford and the Clive Woodward approaches that suddenly brought english cycling and rugby from also rans to unbeatable.
Embracing history; instead of being fearful of the standing that previous icons and fan favourites have, it is now embraced and used to show current cadre just how much it means to play for City and how much it means to fans and area. So simple, but football has been so blinkered for so many years.
Webber; he's a guy you would trust and is a true leader. Not a manager, but a leader. Supremely confident outwardly but constantly worried internally about if he is right, or any good. In addition, prepared to admit failure and say he got something wrong. So much respect.
Absolutely no surprise how we smashed it last season and why the players have such a camaraderie, such belief, and just give of their best and more.
We may just create some surprises this season! I would just love to knock some of the Prem-centred journo, pundit and fan's smug know it all predictions right out of he park.
Roll on the season! Can't wait now!
Last comment, and I'll quote Gossy (which is now on the City canteen wall)... "I left my lungs and legs out on the training pitches and I left my heart and soul at Carrow Road" 💛💚
OTBC... sorry too many words 😮
