Positivity and throwing the bat at everything is a high risk strategy. The chases rhey’ve messed up we’re all gettable scores if they rotated the strike, ticked over and kept wickets in hand. Root is so important to this, ditto Stokes at the moment. The rest have mostly given their wickets away. Moeen is particularly infuriating in this regard but lots of others culpable. So frustrating. Signs of mental weakness too in recent shambolic efforts to chase under pressure.
Bowling wise they were hit and miss up front today - in their defence Finch and Warner had some luck (umpires call LBW going their way, playing and narrowly missing a few times) but in general England’s lengths were off for the first 20 overs.
