That's for test matches (where clearly it is right)

Because the pitch gets worse over 4-5 days, and so you don't want to bat last.

Obviously doesn't apply 1-day matches. And we've been pretty successful over the past 2-3 years batting second (and that's English understatement).

Odd how difficult it's seemed to be in this tournament though.
