I don't think a major sale makes a big difference

And nor is it that we are actually financially constrained to the extent we are operating (which is undoubtedly a problem in dealing with other clubs and potential players).

It's that we don't want to disrupt the dressing room with lots of expensive new players who will expect to play. Selling Aarons for £40m won't change that (even if we spent most of it on a right back it's very unlikely they would improve us).
