As for the Vuelta 2011 news - just about the least surprising thing ever. Cobo came from absolutely nowhere to win that - I think just about *everyone* watching assumed he was doping.

Was one of only two 'unbelievable' (in the traditional cycling parlance) grand tour wins over the past decade. The other being the same race only, er, a year or two later.
