it suits me on the away side for the reason you state - more chance of securing a ticket by essentially paying to queue jump. Makes it a bit more expensive, but that just means less spending at the ground.
But the law of unintended consequences comes into play for families. It's an observation, not a complaint.
The stuff about plastics is a red herring and not really an issue in the grand scheme of things. It's not a scheme designed to address that. It's designed to maximise income.
After all, prem salaries have to be paid somehow.
