Also the police will be hammering the families of those who have gone out to fight with gay abandon, so it looks a bit rum if they give a free pass to one of the few middle class white people to have gone over there.

I'm sure we all sympathise with the parents in this case, but there hasn't been an awful lot of sympathy or column inches for other parents that have been caught out in similar circumstances.
