wasn't it the highest ever transfer fee for someone who has only ever played in the English lower leagues (and Scotland)?
We needed to sell him to balance the books; everyone knew that we needed to sell him; he wanted to make the step up. In the circumstances to get a record amount suggests that we did quite well.
If we'd have tried to hold out for 30m+ we'd probably have ended up having to sell him cut-price on deadline day just to keep the creditors at bay.
