I think his point is that

there were some of us predicting he'd be a £50m-60m player for Leicester and should hold out for more than the £15m figures being bandied around, and lots poo pooing that prediction.

He was an utter bargain for Leicester, nailed on profit.

We got a fair price in the end though, and through astute buys we'll have made as much profit on that deal as if we'd sold him for £50m (even ignoring the fact it enabled us to build a promotion-winning squad).

So a rare deal where everyone won. Trebles all round.
