Based on how the CL has gone this season

they were always going to give it. The game will change because strikers who are cornered will try their luck kicking the ball at a defender, in case they get a decision. As long as VAR is consistent, it will just become part of the game and, in time, defenders will adapt.

Bottom line is the pen rule to now has been too subjective so needed changing. If your arm is outside your body and it blocks the ball, it'll be a pen; at least it is clearer than now, even if I don't fully agree with it.
