I think you can spin them pretty much any way.

-Brexit party wasn't surprising as they only did a bit better than UKIP.
-Brexit party very impressive to come first six weeks after being set up and did better than what many people thought was a high watermark for UKIP.
- Labour punished for not being clear enough and should back second referendum.
-Labour punished for talking about a second referendum too much.
-Conservatives failed to deliver Brexit and punished.
-Pro remain parties (lib dems, green and change UK) got more votes than pro leave (Brexit and ukip).

My top take is that more people left the conservatives to vote for a pro remain party or labour than for Brexit party. Depending on exact breaks more than 8% did this, losing 8% would be a big story in itself normally.
