To be clear I'm not advocating we spend stupid money

I accept we need to operate on a more sustainable basis and I don't think we need a lot added to the existing squad. But if there are a couple of key players we need then we are going to have to be prepared to spend a few million on them and my point was really that £10m is kind of the minimum these days, especially if buying domestically. I expect us to buy mainly from abroad for this reason.

We have several young players worth probably over a hundred million we can sell if we go down. We can afford to make at least a couple of decent signings.
