Maradona did wonders at Napoli, but I doubt he would be able to do the same in the game as it is today. All the big players play at the big clubs now. In 1988, over 90% of players in the Italian league were Italian, so the standard was much lower than it is now. Hence one player could make so much of a difference.
In 10 years, ronaldinho could be remembered as best of all time. It is almost as great an achievement as Maradona, to shine out so noticeably despite being surrounded by awesome players.
He is so far ahead of everyone else right now it is ridiculous - he is taking the game to new levels and, while he may never lead a team from the second division to the title, he can equal and better that in different ways.
