1. West Ham were never as low in the table as we have been for ALL of this season. They were always floating around the edge of the playoffs. They also did sack the manager that got them relegated - Pardew was his replacement.
2. So 1/4 of all relegated claubs have gone staright back up. How many more have reached the playoffs? They don't mention that but i would be interested to know. Also conveniently ignores the fact that many (if not virtually all) of the clubs that have come down and have struggled have had huge financial upheaval as a result of relegation - we have not due to our conservative approach last year.
3. How precisely was our squad assembled for ?4 million? Earnshaw was ?3 million alone. Hucks was ?1.5m, Leon was ?700K, Hughes was ?500K, Etuhu was ?500K, the Doc was about ?1 million, Safri ?500K, Drury 500K added to which we have had numerous loan players on about 20K a week each! The figures are being twisted.
4. "we collectively all feel that the manager is not right" - we that conclusively proves they are not personally overloyal to Nigel then? Thats like me saying "well if there ever comes a time I feel like poking my eyes out then I will do so."
5. Years 1-4 - progress, did good things but still alarming deficiencies (away form, playing too deep, negativity) displayed on a recurring basis. Masked by Hucks brilliance in our promotion season that saw the team strart to play with real confidence and build up momentum. Year 5 - total failure which some seem to have managed to trun into a heroic effort in their eyes. We were crap and only had an upturn when in desperation he threw in the players the fans had been saying should play for ages. Year 6 - unmitigated disaster which has pretty much taken us, football standard wise, to where we were when he took over.
The problem with too many people around this club is that their ambitions are too low. For Worthy to be heralded as a sucess on the basis of a decent enough level in the Championship is not good enough - it is the SECOND tier of English football.
