We should ban pretty much every religion then shouldn’t we

In essence there is a fundamental conflict between a world where we preach religious tolerance and say that it’s unlawful to descriminate against people on the grounds of their religion and then go around sacking or lynching people for saying things that have been part of conventional religious thinking in certain religions for centuries.

For what it’s worth as I grow older I increasingly become more and more cynical about all religions and see religion at the cause of a lot of conflict in the world (this being a case in point) but I’m also very aware that others see it very differently and have great faith. I just don’t see that you can have a world where you tell people they have a right to practice their religion but just not that bit because that’s wrong.
