It's not actually my favourite of his work, nor obviously is the newest stuff, but in general he remains my favourite comedy character due to decades worth of pathos built into his ageing persona; there's a career and life arc that adds far more colour than a freeze-frame charicature that never changes could manage. Rewatch Ali G now and it'd probably be awful, but rewatching/listening to AP from the early 90s catches his youthful self before all the Toblerone episodes etc.
