I think in some ways its admirably realistic

they know we're much better than them, they accept that, and they are pleased that their team at least didn't absolutely disgrace themselves.

Kind of like how we would feel if we put in a similar performance against Man City next season.

That must be quite a bitter pill to swallow for a team which has always considered themselves at least equals to us.
