How does one keep one’s ears warm on a bike while wearing a helmet?

Are there whizzo cyclista earmuffs thin enough to go under a helmet? I thought my ears were going to drop off this morning and I only cycle 13 minutes to the station! (Brakes on all the way down the steep hill this morning ... very icy!)
