Wait till their children inherit

It's the cycle. I was reading about the history of Kinloch Castle on Rum the other day. The chap who built it was the son of a man who had built a very successful business (Lancashire textiles) but he himself was a complete wastrel. He spent about £40m in today's money on building the castle, including a giant heated greenhouse complete with alligators (!) and a golf course. Needless to say he couldn't keep it up; it is now in the hands of Scottish National Heritage and falling to bits.
