I don’t see why anyone who’d eat sausages wouldn’t eat haggis so see if you can entice your family to try it. It’s basicalky the same sort of meat that goes into a sausage, but mixed with oatmeal and spices. It’s yummy!
The only offputting bit is if it comes in a sheep’s stomach. That doesn’t look nice and can put the uninitiated off a bit. You can buy haggis which is in the sort of skin that sausages come in instead, so that might be a safer bet visually. Never as nice though.
Alternatively you can get very good vegetarian haggis. When Gitlet #2 became a veggie he was sad at the idea of never eating haggis again but had been greatly cheered by the fact that there is LOTS of veggie haggis available. And no sheep stomach issues either.
Best sauce - reduce whisky or Drambuie with cream and grain mustard. Best accompaniment - clapshot. No greens required.
