It is with a heavy heart that I say...

that I know deep down there is no alternative. (If you'll indulge me for a second).
I was at the forefront of the Chase out movement, oh so many years ago, then there was an unequivocal good versus evil scenario, it was a clear-cut matter, or so it seemed to me anyway. And we'll leave it at that before I commit libel.
With Worthington it is a lot more subjective, and because the issues are more clouded it is that much more difficult to form your opinions and conclusions.
Yes, I gloried in the success of the season before last when it seemed we were untouchable and so together and yes the trip to Cardiff was in the top 5 of footballing experiences in my life and nothing, NOTHING that happens will take that away.
When we have got relegated in years gone by, there was always a way back, but today, with finance taking such a major roll it is becoming more and more difficult to make the transition to the premiership. It is a lot easier to fail. The margin between success and failure is smaller and the stakes are a lot higher.
Worthington always mystified us - substitutions, tactics and formations; he was never in the mould of previous managers that we respected and loved. Bond, Stringer and Walker had established a MO that we were at ease with, WE PLAYED FOOTBALL ON THE GROUND WHERE IT IS MEANT TO BE PLAYED. Yet somehow it didn't matter with Worthy - he brought success - and we could live with the anomalies that we weren't at ease with because we were going places.
It is not our lowly league position, that makes me demand his resignation, I can cope with another year (or two) in the fizzy (I get to see more games for one thing) it is a team that is bereft of ideas, lacking in confidence, it is a team that is made in his own image - of work rate, of endeavour, of mediocrity. (Chippie - the most talented footballer to pull on that canary yellow shirt would be a part time player in this current squad.)
This brings me (at last) to the nub of my argument.
Delia almost single handidly saved our club, but now she is the problem.
We have to convince the board that NW is no longer the solution, but the problem itself. He won't leave of his own volition, why should he? He is by his own admission an ambitious man (Norwich in his opinion is no more than a stepping stone) - that's fine when our ambitions coincide. To fail at Norwich would set his career back a decade.
We have to convince the Board he has to go.
The demo on Sat is def the way to go. The rest of the season is academic, we're not going down and we're not in the play offs. IMHO the only way to rid Norwich of this manager is to make things untenable, make things really difficult for him (& the board) and if things get a bit naughty then so be it.
It often takes a bit to get us going, but the time has come. We are the best-supported club in this division, we have the highest attendance percentages the division and we've had enough
