interview that Howson gave after he left is that we were trying to flog Howson (who initially didn't really want to go) but then Reading became interested in Oliveira so we accepted a (pretty decent) bid for him but then Nelson, having moved around a lot, wanted to stay and settle at a club and was happy at Norwich so said he didn't want to go which meant we had to sell Howson after all (who by then was up for moving because we had made it clear we were happy to sell him).
This was one of the reasons Nelson was being left out at the start of last season despite being on a hot streak in pre-season which i think explains (but does not entirely excuse) his reaction to his goal at Craven Cottage.
He's a good player and I still believe we handled him very badly but admittedly right now I am very happy with Pukki and Rhodes.
