in 17/18 our player wages to turnover ration was 50% which means the player wage related costs was down to around £32m.
Next season our total turnover is likely to be in the region of £32m so clearly we need to lose a lot more off that player wage bill.
If, however, those £32m of player wage related costs includes £12m for Naismith, Jarvis, Martin and say Oliverira and those costs are automatically removed from the equation next season (which they should be anyway as the former three are out of contract) then clearly that gives us a lot more wriggle room.
This is what the scummers seem to ignore when they gleefully talk of us having to find and sell a Maddison every season, they seem to not realise that we have also already reduced the wage bill significantly and will do so again in the summer even if we don;t sell anyone.
