it's a heartless one, mind

the flaw in the logic though is that even if the NGOs aren't there, and even if the majority were to drown, the fact that some will make it through means that you are never going to stop people trying, so you will never stop the untold numbers that die en route before they even become visible to the west.

So, all in all, it's a heartless option that would benefit no-one.
