When I stopped playing Sunday League stuff (many years back) I did a couple of years as a ref. No fun for all the obvious reasons - and it would be far worse now. Told myself I would do one more season and if I didn't enjoy it anymore it would be knocked on the head once and for all. Never even started season 3. Had to send two players off for fighting in a pre season friendly and when I went home put the ref's outfit, flags and whistle in a cupboard and never touched them again. Think I threw them out 5 years later.
