I'm reading "Moneyland" by Oliver Bullough, and it's full of stories like this. The most outrageous one is Chinese CP officials sending their wives' fertilised eggs to Japan, where a Japanese surrogate mother will bear the child. The child may never, or rarely, see its parents, but it has a bank account into which its father deposits his looted money. The money's safely tucked away in case the guy has to leave China suddenly.
