work really hard for a call up whereas others get one juts by virtue of being at Chelsea or Liverpool.
With Madders it was all "needs to prove himself in the premier league" etc etc and now he has he's earnt a call up. Mount meanwhile gets one on the back of a few half decent displays with Derby in the champ.
If Southgate was prepared to pick young players from championship clubs who aren't on loan from big clubs then i would agree its a positive for clubs like us because it might send the message to young players that they don;t need to move to a "big" club to get on the England manager;s radar and thus make it theoretically a tiny bit easier to persuade players to stick around a bit longer. Will believe that when I see it though.
