The first episodes were only good because they hinted at a great story

Which the final episode didn’t quite deliver.

As an analogy, the first series of Lost was very very good, but only because you assume while watching that there will be a great story that comes together to explain everything. That didn’t happen so if you rewatched the first series knowing what were to come, it’d just we weird.

Not that the situations are comparable, but you must see what I mean?

Very watchable stuff all the same, just, as you say, the end wasn’t as good as the first few episodes suggested it might be
