I think maybe it’s a coaching thing re: plans A and B

Not that I’m criticising the coaching staff but rather that the change of system took a while to get us to play how he wanted. Still not all there but a lot better than it was despite losing madders and Murphy. It will get better and better. You only get systems to be fluid with lots of reps to make a habit and avoid the hesitation which killed us last year.

However maybe we still have that hesitation when executing plan B which I’m sure Farke has taught.

It’s a really familiar story for me. Always same symptoms when there’s a philosophy change in a team sport. Takes some time. But I have lots of faith that when it completely sinks in (I’m thinking end of this season), it will be a joy to watch!

Also we now start to see the kind of team he wanted. Hernandez is, I’m sure, what Watkins was expected to be. Lewis > husband and Aarons appears to be > pinto and reed. Pukki banging them in but we also have Rhodes, srbeny and even Oli maybe who can all do a job in that role. All that takes the pressure off leitner to be creative.

And I haven’t even mentioned the options of Buendia, cantwell (told you he was ready!), Godfrey as a pacy CB, Thompson, McLean and passlack.

I think we’ve got a pretty decent squad who are almost about to click. Am guessing likely finish about 8th to 10th but wouldn’t fall over in shock if we sneaked into the playoffs. And it’s a squad which is quite even in depth in most positions other than full back. Don’t think we have any players who are gonna get us 15m within the next year. I think we are in that ideal position to keep the core and build.
