Piazza San Marco is amazing.

But you don’t need to sit in a cafe there, because
a) it won’t be the best coffee - most likely
b) it’ll cost way too much.
However, if that’s the experience you want, then knock yourself out. I’d definitely go there just for a stroll, and some photos, particularly early evening.
