Yeah missed that gap, but you get the gist.

Maybe an earlier qualification round between the last 8 from the Europa League or suffern, then the 4 winners go to the next round which includes the final 8 from the previous CL (excluding those who qualified from winning their domestic league or the CL) and whittle it down to the last 8. I wasn't trying to work it out completely since UEFA are not employing me.

What I was trying to achieve was making the Europa League worth taking seriously BEFORE the semi-finals.
