I'm a simple soul

Some people I like, other times I just dislike someone, regardless of their opinions.

I like you (in the virtual wrath world) even though sometimes I don't agree with you - although mostly I do.

I've never taken to TBF, even though he often expresses similar opinions to you. Sometimes I agree with him, sometimes I don't - that's pretty much the same for anyone posting.

However I was taken aback that for stating just that, driven by the posts I found unpleasant because they carried on the theme you're talking about of 'I'm right you're wrong', I'm suddenly the board pariah who is always nasty, whereas TBF is some saintly figure whom everyone loves.

I don't claim any intellectual prowess, but my career is comms-focused and I always try to read out loud what I've written and think about how it sounds to my target audience. It's not enough to hide behind 'this is what I think so like it or lump it'; it has to be about how someone else hears it and interprets it. Now on a message board, it tends to be more spontaneous and I'm not going to review in the same way I'd do it in a work situation but there's still a place for thinking that maybe, just maybe, someone may not interpret something, or pick up on the tone, in the same way as me.

I've had a horrible work project and the board was a distraction over the last few days, so I've probably posted more than I usually do these days. That was a mistake!
