as being the reason our fans moan with the suggestion being that they are not old enough to remember our clubs natural place in the order of football but I think its actually the other way around. We've always had a large number of older more sedate fans who have never been particularly militant but in my opinion many of the newer batch of fans we have accumulated since the play off run under worthy are less demanding, less militant and more unquestionably accepting of "our lot" than their counterparts of say 20-30 years ago who may have been smaller in number but were more likely to vocally protest if they felt we were under performing.
I would say as well that Delia is probably something of a role model for women in football and because of that I think we have a higher percentage of female fans than many other clubs and (not in every case i will grant you - and I will no doubt still be called sexist for saying this) our female fans "generally" (and I think understandably) seem to be more pro Delia than many of their male counterparts.
I'm not for one moment saying that any fan does not have a right to their opinion or that my opinion matters more than anyone else who pays their money and supports their team in their own way but i do think its one of the reasons as to why the board comes under very little pressure. Sometimes that is a strength of our fanbase and at other times its a weakness.
