“We were just a plaything” - which is exactly what a refusal to sell, when it’s clear you’ve taken the club as far as you can, and a decision to leave it to your nephew, seems to indicate to me. A private fiefdom.
“They do care about us” - well, yes. But rational people could think that their care is now stifling us. They saved us from admin once. But they just don’t have the big bucks that modern footy requires and rather than recognise that, and say “we’ve done what we can, the club needs deeper pockets than ours if it’s to push on, so we are gracefully selling up”, they dig in, hang on, treat all furriners with deep suspicion and make plans to exert the dead hand of control even after they’ve gone (leaving us to Wee Tom who has less money than they do).
There you go, opinions innit.
