Sat in with the Indian supporters and near the drum. They were quiet through the morning then got into their stride after lunch as Kohli and Rahane ground their way towards a win. Roars every time a review went their way but the biggest one was reserved for Kohli's 50. At tea I still though it was India's game, but excellent bowling and fielding saw England home.
As the afternoon went on and England got a grip there was some competitive singing between those around the drummer and a knot of England supporters about 10 rows down. Nice to see handshakes and high fives at the end.
Following the derby took me back to the days of Ceefax. I couldn't get the Wrath or iFollow to refresh due to lack of signal, managed to see the score on BBC eventually but even that was taking forever to update. Glad I hadn't paid for the stream.
Not a cloud in the sky all day so I am glowing in the parts that weren't covered up. First time I've sat out in the main bowl of the Ageas Bowl all day, I usually go in the stands under cover. Not something I would want to do too often.
All round a good day and, as I said to someone at tea, proper cricket like I was brought up watching.
