Petrol heads - help and advice required

I have a Ford Focus 62 plate with 97,000 on the clock. To cut a long story short, oil through the engine and other parts - and won't start.

Good local garage, says new engine required, plus other stuff: parts and labour around £4k. Frankly... f**k *that* - we'll go from two cars to one for the time being... so I'd like to simply get rid.

What do you think my options are? Garage themselves will give me about £300 to take it off my hands. Any better options which could get me more?
