I agree to an extent, was just providing some context for why it's kind of fair to say

we are poor right now. We are currently, imo, the worst we have been since the season in which we got relegated to L1. That's not entirely to do with overachievement in recent years, it's also because we've had three consecutive seasons of failure.

The thing is though, that it's difficult to have expectations right now as fans, when the club is getting worse every season. Last time this happened we ended up in League 1. If we do the same again, we might not find a Lambert to rescue us.

So maybe the expectation for this season is mid-table, avoiding a relegation battle. But for next season or the season after? There isn't much to suggest that the current slide is slowing down.
