that it was a little 1970s. However, the suggestion is that it is the colour which has a calming effect.
So, I'll give them the benefit of doubt and assume that the historical "pink is for girls" mantra is more a result of sexists choosing the calming colour for the "fairer sex" rather than the other way around.
It's still ridiculous though. Whether it is pink, orange or whatever.
Personally I'd be more inclined to paint it red, which I think is meant to up the testosterone levels? In my experience teams (in any sport) who come out more emotionally fired up tend to suffer from focus and make more mistakes, forget their technique, tire fast if you weather the initial storm, and also fall apart fast if it doesn't go their way early.
But to be really honest I think it is all a bunch of bollocks. It's how the captains and the team staff organise and handle the day which results in any mood changes. Oh, and little unexpected things such as a strange colour of changing room, or an extra hook where it makes no sense, one bench slightly higher than the next, strange smells, occasionally high pitched noise nobody can locate - those are the things which will disrupt a team.
BUT NOT IF YOU TELL THE FANS FORUM YOU'VE DONE IT.
