I think the intent was pretty attacking

Tettey was joining in attacks regularly, especially in the first half, and the full backs both pushed fairly high, leaving Klose and Hanley pretty lonely at the back at times.

Definitely much more attacking intent than the ponderous, keep possession for the sake of it, ultra-defensive five at the back we played for much of last season.
