He isn't the first or probably the last to go down this route

They start posting as themselves, albeit not hugely successfully. Maybe they lose a couple of arguments on here or have opinions disproved.

Instead of doing the impossible on here and admitting they were wrong, they then go full on troll and make out it was part of a ruse all along.

This protects their fragile ego and they carry on until they have the inevitable meltdown, or people do the sensible thing and stop responding to them.

Not the first to do it and won't be the last.
